| All of the older photographs have been scanned from negatives or prints as required and thus the quality is variable. Life is too short to start touching up photographs. Some shots were taken from the signalbox verandah, through the windows or adjacent to the signal box depending on the requirements of the job. With down trains it was a case of working out which workings produced the best locomotives, lurking outside the signalbox and hoping that you did not receive 6 bells !
Obviously it was an all weather railway and the pictures show how it really was. After Coldham Lane and Cambridge North were closed I returned to Shepreth Branch Junction for a short while in 1983. |
